BOILING SPRINGS — A mother-daughter duo plans to offer luxurious dresses for an affordable price at their bridal shop in Boiling Springs.

Lorie’s Bridal Gallery is located on 169 Giles Drive and will carry bridal gowns, prom dresses, bridal accessories and prom accessories. The owners are planning to have a preview show at the beginning of September and open their doors a few weeks later.

“It’s special because it's family and because we're doing it together,” said Lori Hutchins, co-owner of Lorie’s Bridal Gallery. “It’s something that we both enjoy.”

Hutchins and her daughter, Natalie Hutchins, would drive to stores and try on formal and prom dresses during their free time. She said her daughter was in the sixth grade when they began to try on dresses as a pastime activity. Lori Hutchins said she’s hoping to bring the same excitement to her customers that she and her daughter had while looking at dresses.

Lorie’s Bridal Gallery will have dresses from Justin Alexander, Casablanca Bridal, Monica Loretti and Sydney’s Closet. Lori Hutchins said she’s hoping to open the store with 100 bridal gowns and keep between 150 to 200 dresses at a time. The gallery will carry sizes six to 28, and the dresses can be ordered up to size 40.

“Pretty much anything that you need for bridal or prom, we’re going to carry here,” Lori Hutchins said.

The 3,000-square-foot space that the bridal shop will be in used to be a furniture store. There's an additional 1,500-square-feet of space that will be used as a prom side of the store once the owners feel that an expansion is necessary. In the back of the shop, there will be five modular dressing rooms.

“It’s important that they come in and they can look at the dress, try on the dress and know that they'll still have money left over for their dream wedding and dream dress,” said Natalie Hutchins, who also co-owners the store.

There’s an open showroom that will have an eight-foot mirror and a 12-foot mirror. Near the front of the shop, there will be two rooms for prom dresses and a staging room. There’s also an accessories room.

“I think that the building has a lot of personality, which is good because me and mom have a lot of personality,” Natalie Hutchins said. “I think it's important that we have a building that reflects us even when we’re not here.”

When the shop opens, the owners are planning to have appointments only from Tuesday through Thursday and walk-ins are welcome any time on Fridays and Saturdays. The owners are also planning to eventually add mother-of-the-bride dresses and pageant dresses.
